Recently, a batch ofcontainers loaded with silicon dioxide set off from Wuxi West Station,transited via Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port by sea, and will be delivered directlyto Sihanoukville Port in Cambodia. Following the successful launch of the"Double Express" rail service from Wuxi West to South America, theWuxi West Station Logistics Park has once again stepped up efforts byestablishing a new "Wuxi West—Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port—CambodiaSihanoukville" multimodal rail-sea express route, further strengtheningthe international logistics network between Wuxi and ASEAN.
The core of the "DualSpeed" logistics model is the efficient synergy of "premium rail-seaintermodal express + international maritime express," ensuring "fastturnover and minimal delays" in both land and sea transport stages.Front-end rail-sea intermodal leverages the advantages of railways—high capacity,low susceptibility to natural conditions, and strong connectivity—to achieveseamless "door-to-port" integration. Back-end maritime express, onthe other hand, utilizes "point-to-point" direct shipping resourcesto significantly reduce sea transit time. Together, these two componentscomplement each other, forming a rapid logistics corridor with"uninterrupted land transport and direct maritime routes." Currently,the first rail-sea intermodal route operated by Wuxi Rail Express—covering"Wuxi West—Shanghai Waigaoqiao—Guayaquil Port"—has dispatched 10trips by the end of September, achieving a stable monthly frequency of threedepartures and transporting approximately 900 TEUs cumulatively.
Cambodia West Port, as animportant hub port in the ASEAN region, is a logistics core node connectingCambodia and the surrounding areas of Laos and eastern Thailand. The "WuxiWest - Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port - Cambodia West Port" sea rail intermodaldouble fast line is the precise implementation of the "double fast"model under the guidance and support of Shanghai Railway Logistics Center andShanghai Port Sea Rail Intermodal Transport Co., Ltd. Compared to traditionaltransportation routes, the new "double fast" logistics model canshorten transportation time to 2-3 days and reduce logistics costs by 10%. The"Wuxi West - Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port" sea rail intermodal train hasa mature operational foundation. This key channel has always been based on thecore advantages of "fast delivery and stable schedules", and hasachieved normalized operation of "daily schedules", providing areliable guarantee of "scheduled arrival and zero delay" forfront-end cargo collection and distribution. This stable schedule rhythm solvesthe logistics worries of Wuxi's foreign trade enterprises. The person in chargeof the shipping company, Quecheng Silicon Chemical Co., Ltd., introduced thatthe "fast delivery and stable schedule" of the sea rail intermodaltrain at their doorstep has promoted the reform of the enterprise's industrialchain. In recent years, Wuxi sea railintermodal trains have continued to build stable and efficient logisticschannels, becoming a "stabilizer" for Wuxi's foreign tradeenterprises to break through against the trend. According to statistics, fromJanuary to September this year, a total of 306 sea rail intermodal trains wereoperated, sending 21000 TEUs of containers, a year-on-year increase of 115%,and the total value of transported goods reached 6 billion yuan.
